Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Hawaiian Floral Honey Glaze Recipe


-12 large Medjool dates

-6 slices of bacon, each cut in half to yield 12 pieces

-1/4 cup Akaka Falls Farm Hawaiian Floral Honey

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

-Toothpicks, for securing


1) Date Preparation:

  • Using a paring knife, carefully create a lengthwise slit in each date, forming an opening.
  • Gently remove the pit from each date, ensuring a hollow center for the forthcoming filling.

2) Stuffing the Dates:

  • Take a portion of bacon, wrapping it around each date and placing it within the prepared cavity.

3) Securing with Toothpicks:

  • Carefully insert a toothpick through each bacon-wrapped date to maintain its form and structure.

4) Maple Glaze Production:

  • In a small saucepan, gently heat the pure maple syrup over medium heat.
  • Allow the maple syrup to simmer for a few minutes until it reaches a slight thickening consistency.

5) Baking the Bacon-Wrapped Dates:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange the bacon-wrapped dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Delicately brush each date with the lustrous maple glaze.

6) Baking Process:

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the bacon- wrapped dates for approximately 15-20 minutes. The desired result is bacon that turns crispy and dates that become tender.

7) Presentation:

  • Arrange the Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Maple Glaze on a serving platter, allowing them to take center stage in their flavorful ensemble.
