Cheesy Sausage with Coconut Papaya Preserve Holiday Rolls Recipe


  • 1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls (8 oz, the seamless kind works too)
  • 1 oz of softened reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 1⁄2 oz of Akaka Falls Farm Coconut Papaya Preserve
  • 1 cup browned and cooled ground turkey Italian sausage
  • 1/4 cup roughly chopped mild or hot banana pepper slices from a jar –
    1 cup shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese


  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with non-stick
    foil or parchment paper.
  2. Open the crescent roll dough and lay it out flat. If there are seams,
    make sure to pinch them together tightly. If you’re using seamless
    dough, just open it into a large sheet.
  3. Gently spread the softened cream cheese and Akaka Falls Farm Coconut Papaya Preserve over the
    dough, leaving about a 1/2- inch border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage crumbles, chopped banana peppers, and
    Mozzarella cheese over the cream cheese.
  5. Carefully roll up the dough from one long side, making a log (like a
    pinwheel). Seal the edge once it’s rolled.
  6. Use a sharp knife to cut the log into 12 pieces and place them on the
    prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between them.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they turn
    golden brown. Serve the warm pinwheels with your favorite marinara
    sauce for dipping
